New Years Eve in Kuwait (again)

2 years ago this day I was about an hour north of here, ready to scream. 2 years later, I am still ready to scream LOL. I plan on going to a party later with 2 friends of mine, or as one of them put it, I get to have 2 dates tonight LOL. Gee cool, but what's really bad is they are two dates that I can't kiss at midnight for good luck. Well, unless I reallywant to get into trouble ROFL:-D
It's all good here, just biding our time before we go:)

Hi, Lizzie!

Hope the New Year treats you well. I was directed to your blog by a friend of mine and just finished reading it from oldest to newest. I am very impressed. Shortly into reading it I began to smile when you did and feel sad when you did. You do quite well expressing your emotions without being..icky?..about it.

I was very choked up when I reached the post about the IED, I'm glad you made it, lady!

Much of what you expressed brought back memories of my time in the Army. But I was also struck by the thoughtfulness of what you often have to say. Not what I remember when I was an E-5, nor later as an 0-1 (lol).

Your post from the hospital asking people to give to other soldiers made me feel so proud you are in our Army. I served under Carter, Reagan and the first Bush. I now wish I had stayed in under Clinton so as to be able to meet soldiers such as you. I truly think we have the finest group of soldiers America has ever known, and you are a great representative of them.

No matter what you decide to do I think you have a bright future in front of you. But try writing; I think you have a gift. There is nothing more thrilling than walking into a Barnes & Noble and seeing your name on a book.

Well, maybe flying back to the States to see your family! ;)

Best regards and God Bless,

QM

Yeah Happy New Year. I'm an American here in Sunny SimLand myself with a husband that will probably have to work New Year's Eve. Ran across your blog searching to see if they did anything here in Kuwait for New Years. No luck. I guess it's the lonely tube for me this year. lol I want to go home so I can see a friend! Think next year I'll do that if I'm still STUCK here. Oh God what a hopeless country!
